MEN AFTER GOD’S HEART

Manhood is not about age or size; but ability to discern the mind of God for the moment and to act accordingly, despite all odds.
You know real men; they have passion for God’s passion. They know the mind of God for the hour. David was such a man and that’s why he stood out in the Bible as a man after God’s heart. David was a man after God’s heart because he knew exactly what was in God’s heart. He knew that God’s passion is to dwell with man.
“For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place this is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.” (Ps. 132:13-14).
So he made it his passion to build Him a temple. “I will not enter my house or go to bed. I will allow no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”(Ps. 132:3-5).
In each dispensation, God purposely decides how to dwell with man. At a time, He dwelt in tents. At another time, He dwelt in temples built by hands with bricks. Under that dispensation, David had the passion to build for God His dwelling place. In this generation, God’s passion to dwell with man, who bears His image, is through the unity of all believers.
Today, God no longer dwells in temples built by men.
“However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says.” (Acts. 7:48). “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. (Acts 17:24).
He dwells in our midst.
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matt. 18:20).
“In whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” (Eph. 2:21:22).
We are now the living stones by which His present dwelling house is built; not by us, but by Jesus Christ (Matt. 16:18).
Our duty is to connect with one another (John 17:23); so that He can dwell in our midst.
Spread the news of TJD worldwide. It’s high time we pulled down walls of denominations erected by men to divide us. When Jesus, the real man willingly shed his blood on the cross, walls of division collapsed.
“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.”(Eph. 2:14).
Real men after God’s heart pull down walls of division. Real men after God’s heart humbly come down from their exalted positions to unite the Body of Christ because that’s what He did. He put up a building not of gravel, sand etc. but of living souls. We need to put up physical buildings for ourselves but His spiritual building must be given highest priority.
Be a real man like Joseph of Arimathea; who used his influence to secure the dead BODY of Jesus for proper burial. Use your influence to gather the scattered BODY of Jesus as we jointly worship during the TJD hour.
The soldiers that witnessed the death of Jesus said: let us not divide His garment.
“They said therefore among themselves, let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be.”(John 19:24).
Let’s not divide His seamless Body anymore. Let’s not pursue our heart desires at the expense of His body. Stand for unity in your local assembly; stand for unity of the Body worldwide which TJD represents.
